  1. Take For the puran poli filling
  2. Take 3/4 cup chana dal
  3. Take 1 cup chopped jaggery
  4. Get 1/2 cup cardamon powder

  7. Make ready 1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  8. Make ready 1/2 tbsp ghee

Instructions to make Puran Poli:
  1. For the puran dough, combine the flour and ghee in a bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough water.
  2. For the puran filling, soak the chana dal for 30 min. Drain and set aside.
  3. Combine the dal with enough water in a deep pan, and cook for 20 minutes drain the dal and set aside.
  4. Add the dal, Jaggery, nutmeg and cardamon in a deep pan, mix well and cook for 5 to 8 min. Till the Jaggery melts, while stirring continuously and mashing at regular intervals. Cook completely and keep aside.
  5. To make puran poli, roll out the portion of the doubh into 100 mm. And roll the flour.
  6. Place the filling portion in a center and fold the edges of the dough over the filling. Pinch the edges together to seal the filling.
  7. Flatten the dough and roll again. Use the flour for rolling.
  8. Cook on a tava over a medium flame, till it turns golden brown colour from the both side. Apply ghee while cooking.
  9. Smear a little ghee on puran poli and serve hot… And above all ingredients is for 5 puran poli…
